If you don't want to farm Hunter's Ale per se, you could go and do Kilroy Stonekin's "Punch-out Extravaganza!", which gives you a Dwarven Ale at the end, and various scrolls/items on the way!

Good luck!

It's in Eye of the North in Gunnar's Hold, talk to Kilroy and he is on the westside of Gunnars I think

To find the bear hunters in pre-searing:
Leave from Fort Ranik, go past all of the skale. Head back along the road towards Lakeside County (back the way you got to Fort Ranik in the first place). When you get to the small bridge with two sets of Bandit Blood Sworn on each end (just before the merchant in the zone), turn left. There's only one way to go... then the landscape opens up a bit, and there are wolves and spiders. Use your ALT key to highlight NPCs, you should be able to see the hunters. Or at least see their chat balloons.

Talk to a hunter when they're not playing "Blood, Sweat and Tears" (i.e. counting) and the hunter will say "-hic- Another challenger!" A bit more dialogue, then you have to go find and kill a bear within three minutes and return. After you do that successfully you can click the hunter again after a bit (a minute or so) to get the challenge again. There are two bears near the hunters, so generally you can get two ales per run -- unless you go explore and know where the other bears are in the zone, but those are more difficult to get to and kill within three minutes.
